Regular readers of this blog will know that I like the show Grey's Anatomy. After it finished it's run on Living TV, I decided not to try and download every episode of Season 2 from the Net (it's bad enough waiting for new episodes of Lost all the time!). However, in my current fed-up state of mind, I somehow downloaded 15 episodes of the show and have watched them all over 3 days. I won't spoil what happens just incase some of you guys out there reading this actually follow the show too, but I'll just say that this season is just as good as the first season - Unlike Desperate Housewives which is strangely disappointing this season.
I have asking myself the question "Why do I like Grey's Anatomy?" It could be because I first discovered it whilst in California last year and I caught the tail end of Season 1. It could be because it's not so much a medical drama like ER, but it's more a drama series based on the lives of those working in a hospital. It's quite quirky, but it's also quite sassy and modern. Also, the soundtrack is brilliant and features contemporary artists. It only makes me smile more if I hear a KT Tunstall song or (OK, slight spoiler here) when I hear one of my favourite songs at the moment "Just Like A Star" by Corinne Bailey Rae.
But there's been one moment in this series that completely stands out above the rest and is therefore completely memorable. The actual episode was brilliant and for the one scene, the music was just hauntingly beautiful. The whole thing actually sent a shiver down my spine - the lyrics, the actual song, the scene. Please allow me to share the lyrics with you... Don't worry, it won't spoil what happens in the show:
UNLIKE ME (Words by Kate Havnevik)
There are no guarantees in life
Not for the present nor for the future
All I know is that I'm here
Don't know for how long
I love the way you live so intensely
Enjoy every minute of life
With space to swing your arms around
Laughing loudly
Unlike me
Unlike me
Do you think I'm strange
Unlike you
Unlike you
I am not pretending
There is no time
There is no time
There is no time
Time doesn't really exist
The past, the present and the future
Are all side by side hand in hand
You move and change
Yet you go nowhere
Everything stays the same
You stare at me and ask me questions
Makes me nervous
This room it keeps a constant tone
While I'm on a rollercoaster
Unlike me
Unlike me
Do you think I'm strange
Unlike you
Unlike you
I am not pretending
There is no time
There is no time
There is no time
Time doesn't really exist
